Planning “Your” Chosen Event

Now that you have signed on the dotted line and paid your registration fee, what is next?  

Plan for your event.  Get a plan of action in place by working back from the event date or take the weeks you have to prepare and break out the steps needed.  Be reasonable about what you need to prepare and what you can get done.  Setting the bar too high can cause injury, fatigue or not feeling adequate.  Too low of an action plan and your event may not be enjoyable or meet your expectations

Next, execute your action plan.  Stay strong and hold to your commitment.  Practice your warm up, workout with your day of nutrition and test out clothing options.  Find out what works before you get the venue.  Review your action plan weekly to make small adjustments as needed.

 

Finally, go crush your event!  Put all your hard work and learning to use.  Relish in all your preparations and do not stress over the factors you cannot control.  After a day or two, review how the event went.  Ask if my warm up was adequate, did my nutrition plan work or did I have enough left for a strong finish.  Make your notes to add to your next plan of actions.
