Americans, Finns and Swiss wearing Johaug® gloves
More and more of the world’s best female skiers are choosing to wear Johaug® gloves when they are out on the trail. Among others, half of the Norwegian national cross-country team use the specially made gloves. And now Team Johaug has gained more members.
This time it is five new, international top skiers from the USA, Finland, and Switzerland who have slipped their hands into the colourful gloves.
‘We are very proud that many international cross-country skiers are choosing to use Johaug® gloves. It also shows that we are doing something right, and that we are delivering a high quality product. It also gives the brand credibility and a chance in the international market,’ says Jon Inge Gullikstad, Owner and CEO of Small Nordic AS, the company behind Johaug® gloves.
Johaug® is already a supplier of equipment to the Norwegian and Swedish skiing federations, and has now entered into a four year contract with the US Ski and Snowboard Association. Johaug® has also secured three new athletes for its team from the American national squad.
Jessica Diggins, who goes by the nickname Jessie, is an energetic girl who became the world champion in the team spring during the World Ski Championships at Val di Fiemme in 2014.
Elizabeth Stephen, who goes by the nickname Liz, is amazingly fast on uphill sections, and during the 2012/13 Tour de ski only Therese Johaug managed a better lap time on the final stage.
Sophie Caldwell is a strong sprinter. She took third place in the sprint freestyle at Lahti on 1 March this year.
Krista Pärmäkoski, formerly known as Lähteenmäki, joins Team Johaug from Finland. This weekend she won the Finnish edition of the Beito Spring, and she truly is a skier to watch out for this winter.
The latest addition to Johaug’s “girl power team” is Seraina Boner from Switzerland. She is a long distance skier who has won countless races, including the Birkebeinerrennet race, Marcialonga, and the König Ludwig Lauf – twice each!
Others wearing Johaug® gloves include Norwegian girls like Martine Ek Hagen, Celine Brun-Lie, Kathrine Harsem, and of course Therese Johaug.
Johaug® gloves and mittens are available in the following categories:
- Racing
- Touring
- Leisure
- Junior
