Continued Commitment to CXC

We are pleased to announce that we will be continuing our STRONG commitment to CXC Skiing in the next year. Two Seasons ago we added a Strength Training Facility to help benefit our Growing CXC Masters Chapter, and we will be continuing to add additional benefits for the 16-17 Season. CXC Master’s Programming ~ Rice Lake Chapter
Another Season of CXC Master’s is wrapped up. Look for info coming soon of Start Dates for the 16-17 Season!
Didn’t make it to the Intro Night? You can still sign up or if you would like to attend on of the coached sessions let us know. There is a $75/ night fee to attend Coached nights if you are not a VIP, Bronze, Silver or Gold Member
Chapter Coached Session Dates:
This will be our 3rd Season of a CXC Master’s Programming (Rice Lake Chapter) This is a great way to getting coaching and improve your level of skiing as well as contributing to an organization which is promoting, developing & growing Nordic Skiing in the MIDWEST. Last year just in our area CXC donated over 70 pairs of skis to the Tainter Elementary in Rice Lake & Birchwood Elementary in Birchwood. Fees from Master’s programming go direct to CXC which then in turn takes those funds to run programming, camps, Adaptive Ski programs & More. Northend Masters Clinics
Take your cross country skiing to the next level. The North End Ski Club is pleased to present the
2015-2016 Masters Cross Country Ski Clinics – seven sessions of technique, training, and coaching
in both classic and skate skiing with USSA Certified Level 200 coaches Mike Mandli and Kristin
Hanson along with Chris McGrath, Cindi McGrath and Level 100 Coach Jane Mandli . All fees will go
directly to the North End Ski Club’s trail fund.
On-snow sessions will be held at the OO lighted ski trails at 5:30 PM on Thursday nights.

November 19, 2015 – 1:00 PM North End Ski Trail Cabin – Dry Land Training, Goal Setting, and
Making a Plan for the season. Bring your ski poles, running shoes, and workout clothes.
January 7, 2016 – 5:30 PM OO Lighted Ski Trails – Think snow!
Everything you want to know about the double pole and V2. Skaters bring your skate equipment and
classical skiers bring your kickers. Video feedback.
January 14, 2016 – 5:30 PM OO Lighted Ski Trails – Skate Technique
How to fly and climb like a goat. V2 alternate and V1. Video feedback.
January 21, 2016 – 5:30 PM OO Lighted Ski Trails – Classical Technique
Efficient diagonal stride and climbing hills. Video feedback.
January 28, 2016 – 5:30 PM OO Lighted Ski Trails – Skate and Classical Technique
Downhill speed, turns, and transitions. Using the tracks and knowing when to jump out.
Video feedback.
February 3, 2016 – 5:30 PM OO Lighted Ski Trails – Skate and Classical Technique
Knowing when to switch gears and how to feel the snow. Video feedback.
February 10, 2016 – 5:30 PM OO Lighted Ski Trails
Race strategy, imagery, and enjoying the process. Skills review and video feedback.
The sessions will be movement oriented with very little standing. Fundamental skill development will
be based on individual needs and goals established during the first meeting in November. All levels
of skier are welcome.
Fees for all seven sessions will be $100.00 for non-club members and $75.00 for club members.
All funds will directly benefit the North End Ski Club Trail Fund.

CXC Master’s Potluck, Signup & Intro

We had a GREAT Turnout last evening. With those who have signed up and those yet to we should have a Solid Group for CXC Masters this Season!
This will be our First CXC Master’s Night, sign up & potluck dinner! We will have the grill fired up & Burgers, etc. Bring salad, chips, desert or drink! See you Out There! RSVP if you could Please.

CXC Master’s Programming

Well info is finally out there…. We will be a hosting site again this season for the Rice Lake Chapter of the CXC Master’s Program. CXC Master’s programming funds go directly to CXC to assist with the long term Community Olympic Development Program. This will help with long term goals for local youth programs, support & development of a CXC Training Center etc. Program will involve:
- Monthly Training Sessions with a CXC Master’s Coach
- Weekly Training with local chapter members
- Much, Much More.

Well the first evening of the CXC Masters program was held last night. All I can say is it is well worth the investment in your future and the future of Nordic. Still plenty of time to enroll!
